BIT 2010

In February 2011, we were thrilled to welcome 29 smiling faces from the Beijing Institute of Technology.  The students participated in the American Language and Culture Program, in which universities send groups of students for language classes and cultural excursions.  BIT has participated in the program since 2007.

During their stay at MSU, the BIT students completed 20 hours per week of intensive English classes.  They were divided into different language levels and attended classes with several other students from many countries.
In addition to language training, the group had many wonderful cultural events and experiences.
The BIT students said about the program, “Thank you so much for taking care of us these days. I will never forget my wonderful trip in MSU. Maybe having American steak for a month really worked! Look at my muscles!  For me, this is a piece of whole life memory. MSU and Mississippi cannot represent America, but you can represent the best experience in my life. You were always by our side. I miss all of u, take care.”

We were sad to see the BIT students leave.  “Special group visits are one of the highlights of our year,” noted Molly Watkins, head of the Office of International Education.  We can’t wait to meet our 2012 group!
